Base Rate: $109,600 - $164,400 (salary band placement commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities:
- Participate in the development of THP’s capital project plan, including providing strategic advice related schedules, budgets and constructability issues.
- Provide leadership, direction and guidance to a team of Project Managers to deliver and execute THP’s capital project plan.
- Provide advice, guidance and direction to various committees, team members/consultants on matters related to the facilities planning and capital project management.
- Provide supervision and guidance of other Capital Planning & Redevelopment staff as assigned to achieve operational and capital project deliverables.
- Support the development and implementation of standardized templates and practices for project management and reporting of all Capital Planning & Redevelopment initiatives.
- Develop processes to coordinate implementation and project activities with internal stakeholders across the hospital to ensure effective and efficient operations.
- Develop and maintain regular reporting tools for internal and external stakeholders including budgets, schedules and risk assessments.
- Participate in design development and other planning activities to ensure completeness and adherence to all applicable standards and guidelines.
- Participate in construction site meetings as the owners’ representative in the absence of Project Managers or Coordinators.
- Oversee the commissioning process to ensure effective training and handover procedures are followed.
- Prepare post occupancy evaluations where appropriate, document lessons learned, and apply learning’s to future projects.
- Liaise with hospital administrators, department heads and clinical teams to minimize disruption to the current operating facilities during construction activities.
- Track all ongoing contract interpretation disputes and represent the owner at post-contract meetings to negotiate dispute issues.
Qualifications:
- University Degree preferably in Engineering, Architecture, or an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Extensive knowledge of all relevant regulatory, contractual and guideline frameworks, including but not limited to OBC, CSA, AODA, CCDC2 and Infection Prevention & Control.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in the planning and management of health capital projects, involving planning, design, construction and commissioning
- PMP designation or demonstrated skill with respect to project management, organization, and implementation of detailed project specifications with complex multi-user group projects
- Extensive experience implementing health capital projects in Ontario, with proficiency in technical mechanical, electrical, and other building systems and working with MOHLTC and IO policies and processes.
- Extensive experience working within large clinical environments and demonstrated understanding of the complexities of ensuring patient, staff and visitor safety while maintaining ongoing operations. Acute care hospital experience preferred.
- Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining detailed schedules and budgets.
- Superior communications skills and demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
- Experience building, managing and leading effective teams.
- Solid knowledge of capital budget and evidence-based facility design concepts for health care environments.
- Strong planning and analytical skills
- Good competencies using Microsoft applications including Excel and Project.
